This is the first installment of The Track Of The Week! Every week I’m going to post up a track that you guys send me or that I come across in my day to day. There’s a drop box to my Soundcloud so you can send it to me directly. Make sure you send me an email if you have any specific questions about the track, and, so I can get in touch with you after I’ve taken a listen. I’m looking forward to hearing your songs!

Required Reading
Hi All.
So, I’ve been away for a while but now I’m back.
In my quest for knowledge I just finished reading a book that all of you should read. It’s called “Here Come The Regulars” by Ian Anderson of Afternoon Records. The book is realistic, honest advice about how to start a label from the ground up. It is far and away the best book I’ve ever read on the subject. If you are thinking about starting a label or wanting to get signed by a label you should read this book over and over again.
By the way, Afternoon Records’ roster is really, really good. Check them out. It’s really nice to find a label that you can trust to put out consistently good music.
This ain’t a hobby,

The Recording Process
As I was writing the “Demos Should Be Demos” article I realized that I needed to go back a bit and explain the process of making a record. There are many steps and each one of them is important in it’s own rite. While there are no hard and fast rules about writing songs and making an album, in my experience, this process yields a much better result than just jumping into the fight and blindly slashing your way through. I’ll focus in on each one of these areas in their own articles in the near future, right now I just want to give you the forest, we’ll talk about the trees soon.
